Approval & Quality Control
Our vast technical expertise as well as on-going research and development program ensures the highest quality products from RFD/Revere.
Multiple Military Approvals Worldwide
Specifically designed to provide our customers with the most effective means of surviving in the case of a water ditching, RFD/Revere’s inflatable liferafts meet numerous approvals worldwide. Our unique canopy design and inflatable boarding ramp can be found on board U.S. Coast Guard cutters for their own use in case of an emergency. Tested in actual sea disasters, our rafts have saved lives, including two men off the coast of Hawaii who were forced to survive in the ocean for 28 days.
Boarding Ramp
The biggest problem faced by a survivor after a plane ditching in the water is hypothermia. Therefore, getting out of the water as soon as possible becomes the survivor’s first priority. The RFD/Revere inflatable boarding ramp addresses that most immediate problem and gives all survivors the best and most efficient method of boarding the liferaft with the least amount of effort. The boarding ramp also serves as a guide leading to the entrance of the raft, saving valuable time in the survivor’s fight against hypothermia. Tests show that people either injured, or simply of average physical abilities, do best with an inflatable boarding aid. Proven to work in the harshest sea conditions, the RFD/Revere inflatable boarding ramp design saves the lives of passengers and pilots in the North Sea and elsewhere in the world. This inflatable boarding ramp is the same design required by the U.S. Coast Guard for use on all of our marine liferafts.
Remember, if you can’t get in the liferaft, it can’t help save your life!
Durability
Double buoyancy chambers are manufactured from a specifically formulated polyurethane (PU) proofed nylon fabric. This fabric is highly resistant to abrasion and impervious to corrosion in the marine environment. Far more durable than rubber-based fabrics, the reduced need for repairs results in considerable savings in servicing costs. Welded seams, significantly stronger than glued seams, give the raft an extremely rugged construction.
Stability
The Aerolite Series advanced stability system is achieved by rapidly deploying, high volume water pockets on the underside of the floor which stabilizes the raft even when it’s empty. The increased strength and efficiency of the uniquely designed anti-tangle sea anchor, and the aero-dynamics of the canopy, help keep the raft on the water. A righting strap on the underside of the floor assists in righting the raft should inverted deployment occur in extreme conditions.
Stowage Options
All RFD/Revere aviation liferafts are available in a wide variety of valise and hard packed stowage sizes.
Floor
All Aerolite liferafts come equipped with a manually inflatable floor for additional protection against hypothermia.
Visibility
For optimum visibility, the Aerolite’s bright yellow canopy incorporates retro-reflective strips. The dry cell automatic sea light meets the SOLAS 2-mile visibility requirement and exceeds the recommended life duration of 12 hours. To conserve energy, the light can be switched off during the day.
Equipment Pack
All RFD/Revere aviation liferafts come equipped with FAR-91 or FAR-135 equipment packs.
