The NCSPB-25150MI is a sintered plate technology Nickel Cadmium Rechargeable Battery used on MI-
8/MI-17 Helicopters as emergency power source and for internal engine starting. This battery consists
of 20 cells of HBL NIFE Type NCSPC-25150-4 (@2.5 hour rate) housed in a stainless steel container. Each
cell is provided with a vent valve to release gases evolved in the cell. The power take-off is through
connector incorporated to suit aircraft requirements.
The battery is supplied in electrolyte filled, formed and discharged condition.
The battery manufactured by HBL NIFE meets the specification requirements of DGAQA (Directorate
General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance) Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.
High rate discharge at -18°C:
A fully charged battery kept in the chamber for 16 hours discharge at 625 Amps for 10 seconds and 250 Amps for 50 seconds. Voltage during 250 Amps discharge - not less than 10 V

Storage life: 2 years from the date of manufacture
Service life: 3 years from the date of commissioning
Warranty life: 12 months from the date of commissioning

Acceleration:
a) Normal condition:
+2g to-2g for one minute lateral and fore and aft axes.
+4.5g to -2g for one minute vertical axis.
b) Crash condition:
+9g to 9g for one minute lateral and fore and aft axes
+4g to -4.5g for one minute vertical axis. In addition 10g acceleration for one minute in all three directions
Tropical Exposure:
35± l°C at 95% RH for 12 hours
20± 5°C at 95% RH for 5 to 12 hours
